Just like your hands and neck, your décolletage is one area of the body that you may have neglected, thinking that skincare and sun protection stops at the chin. The skin of the décolletage is prone to static lines and wrinkles, volume loss and a change in texture over time, as well as the ravages of sun damage, and you may feel self-conscious about wearing tops or dresses with a lower neckline. No matter how carefully you look after the skin on your face, you may feel your décolletage is letting you down. We can help.
At the Golden Ratio Cosmetic Clinic, there are a number of different treatments that can be used alone or in combination to rejuvenate the décolletage area.
If you feel that your décolletage needs some tender loving care of its own, we would recommend that you come in for a consultation so that we can discuss which treatment or treatments would give you the best results.
We can use treatments such as a HydraFacial with glycolic acid peel followed by LED therapy, dermal fillers, Botox, Forma, cosmeceuticals, chemical peels, Fractora and mesotherapy to tighten and smooth the skin in the décolletage area and correct signs of sun damage and ageing.
Hydrafacial for décolletage
HydraFacial is sometimes called a ‘red carpet’ facial because it can boost the appearance of your skin without any downtime, giving you a youthful healthy glow. This treatment can be used on your décolletage and neck rather than, or as well as, your face.
The HydraFacial is packed full of powerful antioxidants that can improve the appearance of damage caused by pollution, stress and time. The treatment will detoxify your skin, remove dead skin cells, extract impurities, and provide long-lasting hydration and nutrients to help your skin rebuild its collagen levels.
We find that a HydraFacial works especially well for the décolletage when we use a glycolic acid peel and follow the treatment with LED light therapy.
Intense Pulsed Light
With Intense Pulsed Light treatments such as Forma, we are able to convert light energy into heat that causes the old collagen and elastin in your skin to unwind, and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin. In turn, this makes your skin feel and look firmer and tighter, restoring some of the elasticity to the décolletage region. Intense Pulsed Light also breaks down unwanted pigmentation, sun damage and improves thread veins and redness.
Dermal fillers use a synthetic version of hyaluronic acid, which is a type of sugar that occurs naturally in the human body and acts like a cushion of fluid in the joints, eyes and beneath the skin. Combined with collagen and elastin, hyaluronic acid helps the skin to look youthful and hydrated.
Dermal fillers are a popular treatment choice for décolletage rejuvenation. We simply inject micro droplets of fillers into your skin to replenish lost moisture and reduce the appearance of lines, as well as plumping the skin.
We can inject small doses of Botox to smooth away the fine lines on the décolletage caused by the relaxation of your skin cells and fibres.
With biomimetic mesotherapy, we use a series of small injections containing hyaluronic acid, retinal and peptides to help to restore lost volume, improve your blood flow, boost collagen and elastin production, and more, all of which give the skin on the décolletage a new lease of life. Mesotherapy offers the best results when delivered over a course of three weekly sessions.
Skin care products
We often find that the décolletage is a neglected area of the body when it comes to a good at-home skincare regime and yet it is an area often on display and exposed to potential sun damage, so it needs some extra TLC.
Here at the Golden Ratio Cosmetic Medical Clinic, we primarily use the Obagi and ZO® ranges. The products in these ranges mean that we can recommend a bespoke skincare routine for you to use at home.
Chemical peels are the backbone of good skincare and help in improving texture, tone and elasticity.
We can apply a chemical skin peel to the décolletage area to gently remove the dull, lifeless cells on the more superficial, visible layers of your skin and encourage skin cell renewal underneath. Chemical peels can help improve the appearance of sun damage and hyperpigmentation, as well as boosting collagen and elastin production.
A course of glycolic peels will increase the dermal cellular activity to leave you with plumper and younger skin. Results can last for up to a year with a maintenance peel every 12 weeks.
Fractora radio frequency skin needling
Fractora is a treatment that combines micro-needling with radiofrequency to resurface your skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production.
